Rocco O'Dale[]
Introduction[]
Rocco O'Dale was a farmer from the village of Dale in the Cornucopia of the Southlands. The loss of his sister, Valentina, and his mother due to a raid by rogue Orcs on the town while he was in the fields, lead Rocco to wipe out the entire clan of sun-shunners singlehandedly. This event lead to releasing a supernatural 'rage' that would haunt and help Rocco (and The Company) for the rest of his life.
After saving his town from any further incursions, he left with his older brother Valentino O'Dale (Val), a sorcerer and wizard in training who promised Rocco that the College he studied at could help with the Rage. When Val was eventually assigned as court Wizard to a Princeling in The Borderlands, he and Rocco began a months long journey to Mt. Killington. During his adventuring days, Rocco earned the moniker, "Rocco the Rotten" due to his size, overpowering strength, and the fact that he wiped out every man, woman and child of the Orc clan that attacked his town. After some 15 years of adventuring with The Company, and having been elected the Captain of said company, Rocco became Lord of Killington Keep (Lord Killington) by acclamation of the region's inhabitants after leading a successful defense of the Keep from encroaching princelings.
After five or so years "retired" from adventuring and protecting "all who dwell in the shadow of Mt. Killington," he was approached by Lady Eartha Raguelle the twin sister of a long dead member of The Company, Ar-Raguel, with news that her brother's death may not have been as fatal as they all thought 16 years previous.
Life Before The Company[]
Rocco (and his brother Valentino and sister Valentina) were born to a powerful witch and leader of the Coven of the farming village in which Rocco grew up. The Coven was also the governing body of the village and so, a matriarchy. For many years neither Val nor Rocco knew the identity of their father(s), their mother keeping this information a secret. However, all three children were possessed of unique abilities: Valentina an aptitude for nature magic, perfect for a farming village; Valentino an elemental savant, fire in particular; and Rocco, enormous size, super-human strength and endurance.
Rocco's mother would die before revealing the name of their father, but over time Val was able to determine that all three children did have the same father and he was a Dragon, ostensibly in human form when their mother took him as a lover.
